Poker Chips in Short:
“Clay” chips comprise the large bulk of the genuine poker chips. These are more precisely called as the compression molded chips. As was previously thought, no poker chips comprise of 100% clay. The modern poker chips are made of materials, which are more durable as compared to just clay. Some small percentage of poker chips are made of materials such as chalk, sand, clay and other clays, which have astounding similarities to the litter of a cat. Not many people know the secrets of preparing the poker chips. The manufacturing of the clay chips involve high costs and consume a lot of time. In addition, the manufacturing procedure varies based on the manufacturer.
Miscellaneous:
There are printed graphics on the chips of clay. These are usually known by the name “Inlay”. These are especially composed of paper. They are then coated with a plastic film. These are then implemented on the poker clay chips, previous to the process of compression molding. In such a process, it so happens that, the inlay gets permanently stuck to the poker chip. In such cases, the inlay can be removed only by destroying.
Ceramic Poker Chips:
Ceramic poker chips are those chips, which are manufactured by the firm Chip Co. These were mainly introduced in the middle of the 80’s decade. These were basically considered as an alternate choice to the clay chips. In most of the present casinos, ceramic poker chips are not uncommon. In fact, these ceramic chips are easily available in the market. |
